HARLEY-DAVIDSON CUSTOM FLH. |
|
LONG-TERM PROJECT. |

This attractive Harley custom has had five paint changes in the two decades since it was built, as it sees regular use. The latest incarnation of the graphics was carried out by the famed custom painter, Mallard Teal, who has been constructing and painting custom motorcycles for over 20 years. Teal has won many awards for his tasteful creations at shows across America. He also restores classic and antique motorcycles at his business in St Paul, Minnesota, USA. The bike itself was created from a 1979 FLH by its owner Tom Fedorowski of White Bear Lake, Minnesota, Fedorowski has a long history of custom construction building his first bike in 1962 out of a 1952 BSA 500cc single, and all his bikes are designed to be ridden. This lightly modified stock bike uses a standard frame with the rear suspension lowered 3in (75mm). To match the rear the front forks are raked 10 degrees in the 'triple trees'. Both wheels are fitted with 16in rims and fat Dunlop tyres. The low line is set off with a standard Fatbob tank and a Gary Bang seat. Mechanically, the bike is also close to stock, although it uses Andrews transmission and pipes by Pacho.
