TRIUMPH DAYTONA T595. |
THE NEW BRITISH WORLD-BEATER. |
Developed in Britain, the Daytona T595 set out to be the supersports bike to beat them all. Its most distinctive feature is the twin-spar aluminium 'perimeter' frame that cradles the top of the engine, but its heart is Triumph's trademark 955cc three cylinder power unit and the most sophisticated engine management system in the business . Great care was taken to optimize the shape of combustion-chambers, valves and ports. To deal with the extra stresses caused by the increase in power, stronger components were built in, while weight was saved by using new materials for the non-stress-bearing parts The result is a top power of 128bhp(129.7PS) at 10,200rpm and a mighty 74lb ft (10.2kg-m) of torque at 8,500 rpm. Such is the cleverness of the engine management. Which controls both fuel injection and air induction, that simply by replacing a tuning card, the engine can be altered to conform with the differing speed and emissions laws in markets around the world. |
